Day 1

Start your unforgettable adventure by departing from Hobart, heading towards the heart of Tasmania's west coast. Our first stop is the charming historic town of Hamilton, where we'll enjoy a delightful morning tea amidst its quaint, picturesque streets. Next, we continue our journey to Derwent Bridge, where you'll savor a delicious lunch at the renowned Hungry Wombat Cafe, a favorite spot known for its hearty meals and friendly atmosphere. After lunch, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Nelson Falls. This easy graded walk, suitable for all fitness levels, leads you through lush rainforest to a stunning waterfall—an ideal spot for nature lovers and photographers alike. Our adventure continues with a visit to the Iron Blow lookout, where you'll be captivated by the panoramic views of the rugged landscape and the rich mining history of the region. As the day winds down, we'll arrive at the scenic Strahan Village, your home for the night. Nestled on the edge of the harbor, this charming village offers comfortable accommodation and a peaceful setting to relax and reflect on the day's adventures. Get ready to explore more of Tasmania's hidden gems tomorrow!

Day 2

After breakfast at Strahan Village, embark on the iconic Gordon River Cruise. Glide through the serene waters of the Gordon River, surrounded by ancient rainforests and towering Huon Pines. As you drift through this pristine wilderness, you'll be immersed in the tranquility and untouched beauty of Tasmania's west coast. *Please let us know if you would like to upgrade from the main deck.* Following the cruise, we'll visit the Zeehan West Coast Heritage Centre. This fascinating museum offers a deep dive into the rich mining history and cultural heritage of the region. Wander through the exhibits and discover the stories of the pioneers who shaped Tasmania's rugged west coast. In the afternoon, we journey to Corinna, where we'll take a short ferry ride across the Pieman River. Arriving at the Corinna Wilderness Village, you'll be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Tasmania's wilderness. This eco-friendly village offers comfortable accommodation and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding natural wonders.

Day 3

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the Corinna Tavern, where you'll enjoy a delicious meal amidst the tranquil wilderness setting. You may choose to seize the day with a morning stroll on the Huon Pine Walk, a gentle 600-meter trail that winds through ancient forests along the riverbank. This easy walk offers a glimpse into the unique flora of the region and the serene beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness. Later in the morning, embark on the Arcadia II River Cruise. As you drift down the river, savor a delicious lunch on board while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. This relaxing cruise offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and culinary delight. In the afternoon, we depart Corinna via ferry and travel to the historic town of Queenstown. Here, you'll find the quaint Gold Rush Inn, our accommodation for the night. This charming inn, steeped in the rich history of Tasmania's gold mining era, offers a cozy and comfortable retreat. As the evening sets in, take a leisurely stroll through Queenstown, marveling at its unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Enjoy a restful night, ready for more adventures tomorrow.

Day 4

Begin your final day with a hearty breakfast at the Gold Rush Inn. After breakfast, we drive north to Tullah for a ride on the Wee Georgie Wood Steam Railway. This delightful journey on a historic steam train offers a unique glimpse into the past, with scenic views of the surrounding wilderness. Next, we'll visit Lyn's Teddy Bears, a delightful shop where you can find a variety of handcrafted teddy bears, perfect for a special souvenir or gift. For lunch, explore the wonderful dining options Tullah has to offer. Choose from the cozy Cafe, the charming Cottage, or the welcoming Tavern, each providing delicious meals at your own cost. In the evening, we'll gather for a farewell dinner at the Lachlan Hotel. Savor a delicious meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere as we reflect on the incredible adventures and memories we've made over the past few days. Finally, as we return to Hobart, we'll ensure everyone is dropped off right at their front door, providing a convenient and comfortable end to your unforgettable journey.

BOOKING INFORMATION AND PAYMENT METHODS

• Post in booking request/s with cheque to PO Box 73, Richmond 7025 and we will do the rest, please include your pick-up point and best contact number.

• Phone or visit our office and we can make a booking for you and provide you with a receipt.

• BANK TRANSFER: Please contact us for payment details.

• DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, full payment is required immediately. If you are unable to attend a day tour, we require 48 hours’ notice and we can provide you with a credit to use on another day tour. Cancellation under 48 hours is non-refundable.

• MULTI-DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, a deposit is required immediately. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other tours. There will be a final date provided for the remainder of the package payment.

• PASSENGER FORMS: All travellers on our Multi Day and Interstate/ International Tours are required to complete a Passenger Form which includes details of dietary, mobility and next of kin. This only needs to be completed once or updated when your details change.

• If we cancel a tour for any reason, we can provide a refund or credit to be used within 18 months.

• PICK UP: If you have a group of 6 or more, we can arrange a separate pick up for you.

• POSTAGE: Due to increased cost of postage & delays we will not be posting payment receipts. We encourage you to visit us at our office if you require a receipt or provide us with an email address.

• TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend you obtain appropriate travel insurance at the time of paying your deposit for any of our multi-day tours.

• PRICE CHANGES: Prices may change without notification.

• ITINERARY CHANGES: We reserve the right to alter or omit any part of the itinerary.

• SAFETY: Coal River Coaches reserves the right to decline to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of the tour, or who may require services that we cannot guarantee will be available, or if meals (due to certain dietary requirements) cannot be catered for.

• WAIT LISTS: If a Tour that you want to go on is full, we can pop you on the “Waitlist”. This means if we have a cancellation, we will contact you.

 

Our Tours are subject to the venue & events in which we attend. If there are any changes or cancellations, we will make reasonable endeavours to contact you.
