Day 1
Your journey begins as you depart Hobart, bound for the picturesque border of New South Wales and Victoria. Upon landing in Melbourne, we travel north through sceniccountryside, with a lunch stop in the charming town of Wallan (at your own cost). Explore a selection of inviting cafes, bakeries, or the character-filled old-school hotelfor a delicious meal.
Continuing on, you’ll arrive in Albury and settle into the comfort of the Manta, yourhome for the duration of the tour. Enjoy a relaxing evening and a delightful dinner atthe onsite restaurant, as we prepare for the adventures ahead.
Day 2
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your accommodation before delving intothe rich history of the region.Step back in time with a guided tour of the Bonegilla Migrant Experience, a NationalHeritage-listed site that tells the story of Australia’s post-war migration. Discover thestories of the nearly one million migrants who passed through this gateway to a newlife. Learn about their challenges, triumphs, and contributions that helped shapemodern Australia.
Next, we travel to Beechworth, a beautifully preserved gold rush town renowned forits history and charm. At the Beechworth Historic Courthouse, you’ll hear tales ofinfamous bushranger Ned Kelly, whose trial took place within its walls. Wander thestreets of Beechworth, lined with 19th-century architecture, and soak in the town’stimeless atmosphere.
Conclude the day with a tasting at the Yack Creek Distillery, nestled in the serene hillsnear Yackandandah. Savour locally crafted spirits that reflect the character of theregion, from smooth whiskies to bold gins. This unique experience highlights theinnovation and passion of local artisans.
Return to Albury in the evening, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’sdiscoveries.
Day 3
Begin your day with breakfast at the accommodation. Our first stop is the Jindera Pioneer Museum, a captivating glimpse into the past. This living museum showcases artifacts and buildings from the late 19th century, offering insight into the lives of early settlers. Explore the original slab hut, blacksmith's shop, and period displays that bring history to life.
Next, we take a scenic drive to Yarrawonga where you will find Lake Mulwala. Enjoy a relaxing lunch cruise on the scenic waters, where the ancient river red gums create a breathtaking backdrop. As you glide along the lake and Murray River, soak in the tranquil atmosphere and fascinating history of this iconic waterway. Monument Hill then offers breathtaking views over Albury and the surrounding landscapes, making it an ideal spot for photos.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Explore the vibrant Albury Wodonga area and its many attractions. Dinner tonight is at own cost and the place of your choosing.
Day 4
Fuel up with breakfast at your accommodation before embarking on a day of discovery, history, and indulgence. Visit the impressive Hume Dam, a marvel of engineering spanning the mighty Murray River. Learn about its vital role in water management and take in stunning views of the surrounding lake and countryside. Delve into Australia’s military history with a visit to the Army Museum Bandiana, home to the largest collection of military memorabilia in the country. Explore fascinating exhibits, including vehicles, uniforms, weapons, and personal stories, offering a comprehensive look at Australia’s defense history. Travel to the renowned wine region of Rutherglen for lunch. Enjoy a range of dining options, from a gourmet pie shop to cozy cafes, a modern eatery/bar, or a classic country pub. Choose your favorite and savor the region’s culinary delights at your own pace. No trip to Rutherglen is complete without a wine experience! Visit the esteemed Stanton & Killeen Winery for a guided behind-the-scenes tour. On your return to Albury you will drive via the big wine bottle for a picture opportunity, then you are in for a relaxed final evening. Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your accommodation and embarking on the final leg of your journey. On the way to Melbourne, step into the world of Australia’s most infamous bushranger at the Ned Kelly Homestead & Museum. Explore a replica of the Kelly family home, view the towering Big Ned Kelly statue, and delve into the captivating stories of this iconic figure. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the country’s history and folklore. Continue your journey south to Melbourne Airport for your return home. Reflect on the memories made and the timeless stories shared during this unforgettable tour.

If you are unable to attend a day tour, we require 48 hours notice and we can provide you with a credit to use on another day tour. Day Tour payments are non-refundable. MULTI-DAY TOURS: To secure your seat, a deposit is required immediately. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other tours. There will be a final date provided for the remainder of the package payment. After final payment due date, payment is nonrefundable and non-transferable. PASSENGER FORMS: All travellers on our Multi Day and Interstate/ International Tours are required to complete a Passenger Form. This only needs to be completed once or updated when your details change. PICK UP: If you have a group of 6 or more passengers attending a day tour, we can arrange a separate pick up for you. All Travel Club multi-day tours have a Hobart Greater region home pick up, unless otherwise stated. POSTAGE: Due to increased cost of postage & delays we will not be posting payment receipts unless requested, postage charges will apply.
