Day 1
Our journey begins with a departure from Hobart Airport, filled with excitement and anticipation for the adventures ahead. Upon arrival in Melbourne, we are warmly greeted by our coach driver, who will take us to Warrook Farm & Historic Homestead for lunch and a farm tour. Breathe in farm fresh air, meet the wildlife and farm animals. We continue our journey to the coastal town of San Remo, where we will be staying at the luxurious Silverwater Resort, just a short drive from Phillip Island, so we will be ready for tomorrows adventures.
L , DDay 2
We set out to explore the stunning sights of Phillip Island. Our first stop is the Nobbies Centre, where we take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, soaking in the breathtaking coastal views and the rugged beauty of the area. The highlight is the Seals Lookout, where we can observe the playful seals basking on the rocks below, a truly memorable wildlife experience. Next, we head to Phillip Island Winery, a charming spot to enjoy a delightful tasting session and delectable lunch. Our adventure continues with a visit to the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, an absolute must for any chocolate lover. As we tour the factory, we're treated to an array of spectacularly mouthwatering creations, from rich, velvety truffles to intricately crafted chocolate sculptures. With our sweet cravings fulfilled, we make our way to Prom Country Lodge in Foster, nestled in the heart of the beautiful South Gippsland region. The lodge offers a peaceful retreat, surrounded by natural beauty and offering comfortable accommodations.
B, L , DDay 3
An exciting day lies ahead as we travel south to the breathtaking Wilsons Promontory. Our adventure begins with a 2.5-hour wilderness cruise, offering an immersive exploration of The Glennies, Anderson Islets, and Anser Island. We marvel at the monumental boulders of Mount Oberon, the pristine white quartz sands of Norman Beach, and the striking Skull Rock, each sight more awe-inspiring than the last. After the cruise, there is time to enjoy lunch at your own cost, allowing you to choose from a variety of local dining options. Refreshed and ready, we continue our journey through the scenic Gippsland region, taking in the picturesque landscapes along the way. Our day concludes in Sale, where we settle in for a comfortable stay at the Quest Hotel, reflecting on the natural wonders we've experienced.
B, DDay 4
Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast in the charming Sale town centre, where you can explore local cafes and enjoy a relaxed morning. Our first activity is the Port of Sale Heritage Cruise, this comprehensive cruise experience takes you on a journey back in time to learn about European settlers and the local Gunnai Kurnai people. Along the banks gain insight into the Gippslands region inhabitants from Azure Kingfishers, Swamp Wallabies and Koalas. Next, we embark on a guided tour of the Sale Botanic Gardens, discovering the diverse flora and beautifully landscaped grounds. We pause for a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we travel to the picturesque Lakes Entrance, stopping along the way at Wyanga Park Winery for a tasting. Our day concludes with a stay at The Esplanade Resort & Spa, offering luxurious accommodations and stunning views of the Gippsland Lakes, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing evening.
DDay 5
Today we set off towards Merimbula and we find a few treasures along the way. Our day truly begins with a refreshing 1km loop walk through the McKenzie River Rainforest, an easy-grade trail that immerses us in lush greenery and tranquil surroundings. The serene atmosphere and natural beauty make it a perfect start to our day. We then travel to the quaint town of Cann River, where you have the opportunity to explore and enjoy lunch at your own cost. The town's charming cafes offer a great places to re-fuel. Next, we visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum, where we delve into the fascinating history of the region's whaling past and learn about the unique partnership between orcas and whalers. The museum's exhibits provide a captivating glimpse into the maritime heritage of Eden. Our day concludes as we arrive in Merimbula, a picturesque coastal town. We settle in for the night at the Albacore Apartment Hotel, offering comfortable accommodations and beautiful views of the surrounding area.
DDay 6
We begin our day with a delightful breakfast at The Waterfront Cafe in Merimbula, enjoying the serene views and fresh morning air. Our journey then takes us to the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, where we explore the rich history of one of Australia's most famous cheeses and sample some of their finest products. Next, we visit the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, where we are treated to an informative tour and an immersive film that highlights the significance of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. Afterward, we enjoy lunch at the on-site cafe, savoring the local flavors in a picturesque setting. Our travels then take us to Canberra, where we make a poignant stop at the Australian War Memorial to witness the moving Last Post Ceremony, a tribute to the fallen soldiers. From there, we head to Mount Ainslie Lookout, where we take in the spectacular panoramic views of Canberra from the summit. As the day draws to a close, we arrive at the Mercure Canberra, our home for the next few nights. The comfortable accommodations and convenient location provide the perfect base for our upcoming explorations in the nation's capital.
B, L , DDay 7
Our day begins with a fascinating tour of Old Parliament House, a building steeped in history and political significance. As we explore its corridors and chambers, we learn about its role as the seat of the Australian Parliament from 1927 to 1988 and gain insights into the country's political heritage. Next, we visit Government House, the official residence of the Governor-General of Australia. The grandeur and elegance of this historic building, set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens, offer a glimpse into the life and duties of the Governor-General. Our final stop is the absolutely stunning National Arboretum, where we embark on a guided tour through its vast and diverse collection of forests and gardens. With over 94 forests of rare, endangered, and significant trees from around the world, the Arboretum is a living museum of botanical wonders. The guided tour provides in-depth knowledge of the conservation efforts and the breathtaking natural beauty of this remarkable site.
B, DDay 8
Today marks the conclusion of our wonderful Coastline to Capital tour. After a final morning together, we prepare for our departure with a flight from Canberra via Melbourne. We arrive in Hobart around mid-day, where you will be comfortably dropped off at your home, bringing an end to our memorable journey. BANK TRANSFER: Please contact us for details if you wish to make payments via bank transfer.
DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, full payment is required immediately. If you are unable to attend a day tour, we require 48 hours notice and we can provide you with a credit to use on another day tour. Cancellation under 48 hours is non-refundable.
MULTI-DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, a deposit is required immediately. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other tours. There will be a final date provided for the remainder of the package payment.
PASSENGER FORMS: All travellers on our Multi Day and Interstate/ International Tours are required to complete a Passenger Form which includes details of dietary, mobility and next of kin. This only needs to be completed once or updated when your details change.
If we cancel a tour for any reason, we can provide a refund or credit to be used within 18 months.
PICK UP: If you have a group of 6 or more, we can arrange a separate pick up for you.
POSTAGE: Due to increased cost of postage & delays we will not be posting payment receipts. We encourage you to visit us at our office if you require a receipt or provide us with an email address.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend you obtain appropriate travel insurance at the time of paying your deposit for any of our multi-day tours.

SAFETY: Coal River Coaches reserves the right to decline to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of the tour, or who may require services that we cannot guarantee will be available, or if meals (due to certain dietary requirements) cannot be catered for.
WAIT LISTS: If a Tour that you want to go on is full, we can pop you on the Waitlist. This means if we have a cancellation, we will contact you.
