Fitness Level Requirement: Medium - this tour involves walking and standing for extended periods of time when enjoying the garden tours and exploration of gardens at your own pace.

Day 1: Melb City

Your garden lover's adventure begins today as you fly from Hobart to Melbourne. Upon arrival, you'll be enchanted by the vibrant city atmosphere and breathtaking floral displays that await you.

We make our way to the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens, a botanical wonderland in the heart of the city. At the Terrace Café nestled within the Botanic Gardens indulge in a delectable meal while immersing yourself in the picturesque setting. After lunch you are welcome to take a leisurely stroll through the lush landscapes, guided by the vibrant colours that surround you. The Gardens boast an extensive collection of indigenous and exotic plants, making it a true paradise for any garden enthusiast. Alternatively, you may choose a delightful punting experience on the tranquil lake (at own cost). Hop aboard a traditional wooden punt and let an experienced guide navigate the shimmering waters while you bask in the serenity of your surroundings. As you glide along, marvel at the reflections of the surrounding flora dancing on the water's surface.

It is then time to venture beyond the Botanic Gardens to visit the magnificent Rippon Lea Estate. This splendid Victorian mansion is surrounded by breathtaking gardens that are sure to captivate your senses. Wander through the meticulously maintained lawns, exquisite flower beds, and enchanting paths lined with fragrant blooms. Take your time to appreciate the historic architecture and the lush tapestry of colours that adorn every corner of this remarkable estate.

Day 2: Peninsula

Wake up refreshed and ready for another day of garden exploration. Today, you'll discover
more hidden gems on a captivating journey through some of the most picturesque gardens, where history and natural splendour intertwine.

Your first stop is the magnificent Beleura House and Garden, located on the Mornington Peninsula. This grand mansion, rich in history, offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of a bygone era. Embark on a guided tour of the house, where you'll discover the treasures within, including antique furniture, intricate artworks, and fascinating artifacts. Learn about the intriguing history and stories that are woven into the fabric of this remarkable heritage property. Enjoy a delightful morning tea amidst the beauty of Beleura House and Garden, savouring freshly brewed tea or coffee along with delectable treats.

Heronswood Garden is a horticultural treasure nestled in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula. Owned by the Diggers Club, this garden is renowned for its botanical diversity and its dedication to preserving heirloom plants. Embark on a guided tour of Heronswood Garden, where expert horticulturists will introduce you to the rich tapestry of plant species, unique garden designs, and fascinating gardening techniques. Learn about the history and significance of the garden while being inspired by its natural beauty. Since the show began in 1995, it has grown in popularity and has become one of the most anticipated events in the gardening and landscaping community.

Day 4: Macedon

Today, your group will embark on a delightful journey through captivating Macedon Ranges.

Your first stop is the renowned Forest Glade Garden, boasting an enchanting collection of plants, trees, and flowers from around the world. As you wander through the garden's meandering paths admire the vibrant blooms and marvel at the towering trees in what feels like a flora haven.

Prepare to indulge in the finer pleasures of life at Mount Macedon Winery, Restaurant and Cellar Door. Here, amidst the rolling hills of the vineyard, you'll experience a true taste of the region. Savor the award-winning wines and relish a sumptuous meal made from locally sourced ingredients. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking panoramic views while enjoying the warm hospitality of the winery.

It is then time to bid farewell to the Macedon Ranges as we make our way back to Melbourne CBD.

Day 5: Yarra Valley

A day of botanical exploration and gastronomic delights awaits! You embark on a captivating journey through the scenic Yarra Valley.

Begin your day with a delectable breakfast at the Yarra Valley Chocolatier & Ice Creamery. Dessert for breakfast sounds like a wonderful way to start the day, with many mouth-watering sweets on offer. However, there is also a great selection of savoury breakfast items available.

Next, immerse yourself in the unique beauty of Alowyn Gardens. This privately owned garden is a horticultural masterpiece, offering a range of colours, textures, and scents that will captivate your senses. Take a leisurely stroll through the stunning landscapes, meandering pathways, and enchanting water features. Marvel at the intricately designed themed gardens, each with its own distinct character and charm. Alowyn Gardens is renowned for its rare and exotic plant species, making it a haven for plant enthusiasts and garden lovers alike.

For a truly extraordinary experience, we venture to the Edible Forest. This innovative permaculture garden combines sustainable agriculture with artistic design. Explore the lush surroundings and discover a diverse range of edible plants and herbs, thoughtfully arranged to create a visually stunning landscape.

The next stop, Sutherland Estate, a picturesque vineyard nestled in the Yarra Valley hills. Sutherland Estate is not only renowned for its exceptional wines but also for its breathtaking views. Enjoy a wine tasting experience, where you can sample a selection of their premium wines, each carefully crafted to reflect the unique terroir of the region. Pair your wines with delectable food platters featuring local produce, allowing the flavours to harmonise and enhance your tasting experience. Day 6: Free Day

You have a day free to explore Melbourne CBD and its surrounding areas, you're in for a treat!

Melbourne offers a vibrant mix of cultural, culinary, and, of course, natural wonders. Whether you want to explore more gardens, shop, visit a gallery or indulge in the delicious food scene, the city and its surroundings are filled with endless possibilities for exploration and enjoyment. If you would like any help in deciding how to spend the day, please do not hesitate to ask your Travel Club Coordinator.

Day 7: Dandenong

Start your day with a visit to the town of Sassafras. Step into a world of old-world charm and cozy ambiance known for its artsy vibe and unique boutiques, Sassafras offers an array of charming shops, galleries, and antique stores. Browse through the quaint streets, discover local craftsmanship, and, being our last day, perhaps find a special souvenir to remember your visit.
Continuing on, we find ourselves in the scenic Dandenong Ranges for your visit to the magnificent Cloudehill Garden. This expansive garden is renowned for its stunning array of plantings, impressive views, and captivating design. Stroll through the various garden spaces, each with its own distinct character and charm. Located within the garden is the Seasons Restaurant where you are welcome to enjoy lunch (at your own cost).
The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is the final botanical oasis on your itinerary. This enchanting garden houses an extensive collection of indigenous plants, exotic species, and serene walking trails. Take the opportunity to soak up the last of our amazing garden experiences as it is then time to head to the airport for your return home, reflecting on the captivating gardens you've explored, the flavours you've savoured, and the memories created.

• Phone or visit our office and we can make a booking for you and provide you with a receipt.

• DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, full payment is required immediately. If you are unable to attend a day tour, we require 48 hours’ notice and we can provide you with a credit to use on another day tour. Cancellation under 48 hours is non-refundable.

• MULTI-DAY TOURS: to secure your seat, a deposit is required immediately. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other tours. There will be a final date provided for the remainder of the package payment.

• PASSENGER FORMS: All travellers on our Multi Day and Interstate/ International Tours are required to complete a Passenger Form which includes details of dietary, mobility and next of kin. This only needs to be completed once or updated when your details change.

• COVID19 VACCINATION: To participate in our tours you are required to be 'up-to-date' (as per Australian Government guidelines) with your COVID Vaccination. We require proof of vaccination and ask to sight your Covid Vaccination Certificate.

• If we cancel a tour for any reason, we can provide a refund or credit to be used within 18 months.

• PICK UP: If you have a group of 6 or more, we can arrange a separate pick up for you.

• POSTAGE: Due to increased cost of postage & delays we will not be posting payment receipts. We encourage you to visit us at our office if you require a receipt or provide us with an email address.

• TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend you obtain appropriate travel insurance at the time of paying your deposit for any of our multi-day tours.

• PRICE CHANGES: Prices may change without notification.

• ITINERARY CHANGES: We reserve the right to alter or omit any part of the itinerary.

• SAFETY: Coal River Coaches reserves the right to decline to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of the tour, or who may require services that we cannot guarantee will be available, or if meals (due to certain dietary requirements) cannot be catered for.

• SEATING: Coal River Coaches now operates with a Seat Rotation system on all Coach Tours.

• WAIT LISTS: If a Tour that you want to go on is full, we can pop you on the “Waitlist”. This means if we have a cancellation, we will contact you.
